42nd Street begins by taking us backstage at an audition for a big new Broadway show to be produced by the king of the Great White Way, Julian Marsh. Peggy Sawyer, a new girl in town with dreams of becoming a Broadway hoofer lands a job in the chorus. During the show’s pre-Broadway engagement in Philadelphia, Peggy knocks over the show’s star, Dorothy Brock, who breaks her ankle. The producer fires Peggy on the spot and threatens to close the show for good, but the cast rallies behind the immeasurable talents of Peggy Sawyer and eventually convince Marsh to hire her back—and to replace the star! With only thirty-six hours to learn all the music and dance numbers, Peggy jumps into the show without a hitch. When “Pretty Lady” opens on Broadway at last, the show proves to be a big hit and Peggy Sawyer becomes an overnight sensation!

42nd Street is a classic backstage musical comedy the entire family will enjoy. The show was recently popularized by a successful and vibrant Broadway revival and features an array of fun, over-the-top characters and musical numbers. A truly spectacular dance show, you’ll be tapping your feet along with some of the best tap dancing to be found. Mark your calendars for the biggest and brightest backstage musical of the season!
