About Hunger in Southern Utah & Our Work:

  • Approximately 1 in 5 southern Utah kids face hunger, and 39,000 southern Utahns are unsure where their next meal will come from.
  • We are seeing a prolonged surge in need that started with the pandemic and is continuing because of the strain inflation is putting on already-thin budgets.
  • Across the state, 410,000 Utahns and 1 in 7 kids are unsure where their next meal is coming from.
  • From our distribution center in St. George, we distribute to 40 partner agencies and organizations in our area. A list of those can be found at UtahFoodBank.org under “Get Help”
  • Last year, we distributed close to 6.4 million pounds of food, the equivalent of 5.4 million meals, to Southern Utahns facing hunger.
  • Across the state, Utah Food Bank distributed 70.2 million pounds of food, the equivalent of 58.5 million meals, last year.
