DAVID CASSIDY
Friday, May 9, 2008, 8:00 pm
$24.00 - $36.00
 |
From television to recording and record breaking concert tours, from Broadway to Las Vegas production shows, television sitcom creation and producing, writing and directing both television and live theatrical productions, David Cassidy has made his mark and been lauded accordingly. Hailing from a theatrical family including mother Evelyn Ward, highly respected stage and television star Jack Cassidy, and Academy Award winning stepmother Shirley Jones, his fate as a performer was essentially seeded at a young age. It was by coincidence that he wound up starring with Shirley Jones in the astonishing success "The Partridge Family," which launched one of the most spectacular careers in the entertainment business.

In 1970, the year the show premiered, David skyrocketed to the top of the charts and the show became a phenomenon, as did its young star. He had the #1 selling single of the year, and garnered multiple Grammy nominations. Over the next five years, his official fan club grew to become the largest in history, exceeding those of Elvis Presley and the Beatles. And then came his introduction on Broadway, which opened a whole new world for him. He starred in the original production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" to rave reviews and successful box office response. In 1996, David opened at the MGM Grand in the $75 million extravaganza "EFX." Under David's creative direction the show was entirely re-vamped, and became the most successful production in Las Vegas. |

| SHEENA EASTON
Friday, May 16, 2008 at 8:00 pm
$24.00 - $36.00
 | Sheena Easton hasn't slowed down one bit since her heyday of hits in the '80s. The soulful Scot continues to perform taking audiences on a stroll down memory lane with a catalog of greatest hits. Easton won a Grammy for Best New Artist in 1981 and has no trouble filling a 75-minute show with crowd favorites.
Some of Sheena’s most memorable hits include "Strut," "The Lover in Me," "Morning Train," the Prince-penned "Sugar Walls" and "U Got the Look," "We've Got Tonight" -- her duet with Kenny Rogers -- and the James Bond theme "For Your Eyes Only."
Easton has had a solo show for years at Aladdin Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. She starred on Broadway in "Man of La Mancha" and "Grease." She played the wife of Don Johnson's character in television's "Miami Vice," and she plays Queen Anne in PAX TV's "Young Blades." She was the voice of the Irish setter Sasha in the animated film "All Dogs Go to Heaven 2" and the related television series, and she has done voices for various characters in Disney's animated "Gargoyles" series. |

THE BEACH BOYS
Friday, May 23, 2008 8:00 PM
$39.00 - $59.00
You
can capsulate most pop music acts by reciting how many hits
they've had and how many millions of albums they've sold.
But these conventional measurements fall short when you're
assessing the impact of The Beach Boys. To be sure, this
band has birthed a torrent of hit singles and sold albums
by the tens of millions. But its greater significance lies
in the fact that it changed the musical landscape so profoundly
that every pop act since has been in its debt.
Even
more than the Beatles, The Beach Boys found through their
music the key to unfading youth-and they made copies for
everyone. To these guys, the beach isn't just a place where
the surf comes to play-it's where life is renewed and made
whole again.
Few,
if any, acts can match The Beach Boys' concert presence,
spirit and performance. They were center-stage at Live Aid,
multiple Farm Aids, the Statue of Liberty's 100th Anniversary
Salute, the Super Bowl and the White House. On one day alone-July
4, 1985-they played to nearly 2 million fans at shows in
Philadelphia and Washington, D. C.
In addition
to founding Beach Boy Mike Love (lead vocals) and Beach
Boy-vet Bruce Johnston (vocals/keyboards)-- Mike Kowalski
(drums), Randell Kirsch (guitar/vocals), Chris Farmer (bass/vocals),
Tim Bonhomme (keyboards/vocals), John Cowsill of The Cowsills
(keyboards/vocals/percussion) and Scott Totten (guitar/vocals)
round out the band. |

ODYSSEY DANCE THEATRE’S THRILLER
October 24-25, 27, 30, 2008, 7:30 PM
October 31, 2008, 8:00 PM
$17.50 - $21.50
Wear your Halloween costume to the performance of "Thriller" on October 31 and you could win season tickets to Tuacahn's 2009 shows!

If Odyssey Dance Theatre's "Thriller" isn't part of your yearly Halloween tradition, it should be. The spooky spectacular combines technical aspects of dance while paying homage to the stars of All Hallows' Eve.
Throughout the two-hour program, "Thriller" highlights all the heroes of the season, including Frankenstein's monster and his bride, skeletons, mummies and werewolves. But among the ghouls, you'll find other unlikely heroes of Halloween, such as the knife-savvy Lorena Bobbitt and the "Giggle Girl," who sings and maniacally laughs her way through songs such as "I Saw Mommy Killing Santa Claus."
Critics agree that Odyssey Dance Theatre is nothing short of spectacular:
"Compelling dance performed to perfection! Young, trim, slim, and athletic....Great fun!" --The Spectrum
“Odyssey’s “Thriller”..a delightful “Dance Macabre”....As for humor, there were bucket–loads. Laughs abounded during a “Romeo & Juliet”–inspired “Frankenstein & Frankenstein” and “Jason Jam,” a work that used a lot of percussive dancing, a la “Stomp,” that spotlighted three “Friday the 13th” villains dancing with ice picks, machetes and, of all things, chain saws. The whole idea was cool...”– Scott Iwasaki, Deseret News |
