Tuacahn To Host 6th Annual Mutts and Music Benefit Concert To Raise Funds For The Ivins Animal Shelter

By Joseph Smith, Tuacahn Public Relations
(Ivins, UT) Saturday, August 13th at 1:00pm the indoor Hafen Theatre at Tuacahn Center For The Arts wills open its doors for a concert to benefit the Ivins No-Kill Animal Supporters (INKAS).  The 6th annual Mutts and Music is a musical cabaret of talent offered by cast members from this year’s Tuacahn shows.
The monies raised will help ensure the proper funding of the various needs of the Ivins Animal Shelter such as veterinarian care, supplies, training, grooming, maintaining, socializing- and many more- all in an effort to find homes for these precious pets through adoption.
The variety show will include performances of actors starring in this year’s hit shows Disney’s Tarza, Peter Pan and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.  However, instead of singing songs from the shows, these Broadway caliber actors will break from character and perform songs of their choosing pulled from their deep repertoire of talent.
Bring the whole family earlier and enjoy the Tuacahn Saturday Market, which starts at 9:00am.  Then get out of the heat and enter the Hafen Theatre at 1:00pm for a fantastic show full of talent, live animals and just plain fun.
Tuacahn Center For The Arts and INKAS are both non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organizations.  Suggested donation price for entrance is $15 for adults and $5 for children.

Tuacahn Saturday Market Highlights Master Artist - JOHN JOHNSON

(Ivins, UT)  Since the close of the Renaissance period of art and with the distance of centuries since, it is indeed rare to find what we endearingly call ‘A Renaissance Man.’ Even more rare perhaps is to find one within our own community living a stone’s throw from the red mountains that rise above Tuacahn.  For this is what we find in local artist, John Johnson; a Renaissance man in the truest sense.

Currently living in Santa Clara, Utah, John has enjoyed a successful career and more importantly a passion within the arts.  Photography, oil painting, pottery, metal sculpture, and wall sculpture are a few of the mediums in which John has excelled.  John is a Tuacahn Saturday Market ‘favorite’ as he has been showing his talents in this venue for more than four years.  His story of creativity is fascinating.

Photography was John’s first passion.  After graduating in photography from the Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, CA, John put his talents to work in the commercial photography industry.  “I have photographed on a professional level almost everything from special merchandise items to...
