My Fair Lady
Synopsis: On a chilly March night in Covent Garden, Professor Henry Higgins, an expert in phonetics, meets Eliza Doolittle, a cockney flower girl. Boasting to his friend Colonel Pickering, Higgins claims he can transform Eliza into a refined lady within three months. Eliza moves into Higgins’ home, where she endures intensive and often harsh speech training. Her hard work pays off at the grand Embassy Ball, where she dazzles the elite with her grace and eloquence, capturing the heart of the young Freddy Eynsford-Hill.
However, Eliza is disheartened when Higgins takes all the credit for her transformation and disregards her feelings. She leaves his home and seeks comfort from his mother. When Higgins comes to retrieve her, Eliza refuses, asserting her independence. Later, back at home, Higgins realizes how deeply he has grown attached to her. To his surprise and quiet relief, Eliza returns—having found forgiveness and strength—ready to face a new future on her own terms.
