Christmas In Canyon Checks All The Holiday Boxes — Including Snow!

IVINS, Utah (Nov. 28, 2025) — When it comes to curating the perfect holiday party, Tuacahn’s Christmas in the Canyon has everything you could want. From thousands of twinkling lights to Christmas shopping, visits with Santa, beautiful music and a moving performance of the Nativity, all strung together with the heady aroma of cinnamon almonds and hot cocoa, there is only one thing that would complete this picturesque scene: lightly falling snow.

This year, Tuacahn delivers on that too.

Beneath the red rock mountains of Southern Utah, the desert climate tends to run dry most of the time, with snowfall seldom happening in the lower elevations. But this year, the fluffy white stuff will make an appearance at Tuacahn’s Christmas in the Canyon approximately every 15 minutes, adding even more magic to this delightful festive event.

“It’s the perfect effect,” said Kevin Smith, Tuacahn CEO. “You’ll have the beauty and wonder of falling snow, but it won’t be overly cold. It’s the best of both worlds.”

The snowfall is made possible thanks to snow machines used in last year’s production of Disney’s Frozen, only this time instead of the faux flakes falling on stage, they’ll drift down from the sky onto the plaza at regular intervals.

“It really adds an atmospheric element to create winter,” said Jeff Miller, director of production for Tuacahn. “Since we’re in the desert, it’s such a novelty to have the snowfall.”

And it is against this wintry backdrop that guests at Christmas in the Canyon can enjoy all the other elements of the holiday season, including a ride on the Tuacahn Express train, visits with Santa and of course the Live Nativity which happens at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. each night, with Elf the Musical taking place at 7:45 p.m. in the Indoor Hafen Theatre.

“There’s not a better way to get into the true spirit of the season,” Smith said. “We absolutely love sharing the canyon with so many people at Christmastime. For us, it’s a favorite holiday tradition and we hope it has become a tradition for our patrons too.”

Christmas in the Canyon runs Nov. 28 through Dec. 23, with a few blackout dates. See the online calendar at www.tuacahn.org to get your tickets to enjoy every aspect of the festivities or call the box office at 435-652-3300.
