Tuacahn Day

Today we commemorate Governor Herbert’s declaration of Tuacahn Day!

Governor Herbert declared,

“Whereas, our dear friend, Hyrum Smith has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer; Hyrum and Gail Smith have made a multitude of generous contributions to Universities and Arts Organizations in Utah, the largest being to the Tuacahn Center for the Arts, which they consider to be their family legacy;

Whereas, the Hyrum and Gail Smith Endowment Fund has been set up by Hyrum’s friends to preserve and protect Tuacahn’s future and continue Hyrum and Gail’s legacy;

Now, therefore, I, Gary R. Herbert, Governor of the great State of Utah, in honor of Hyrum and Gail Smith, do hereby declare September 27, 2019 as Tuacahn Day in Utah.”

Thank you to all of you for your continued support to fulfill Hyrum and Gail’s legacy.
