When visitors and patrons come to Tuacahn, every part of their experience is important, especially that first jaw-dropping moment when they drive into the parking lot and see the stunning red rock cliffs against the deep blue sky. Keeping the grounds and facilities of Tuacahn in tip top shape is an important part of that experience.
From a patron perspective, the Box Office, the Tuacahn Plaza, the Outdoor Amphitheatre, the Tuacahn Café, the Gift Gallery, and the Indoor Hafen Theatre may seem to be the totality of the campus. But, in reality, it encompasses eighty acres and includes many additional buildings that are necessary to carry out the productions of Tuacahn’s elaborate and fully customized Broadway musicals.
The Fowler Dance Studio, the Entrada Rehearsal Studios, the Black Box Theatre, the Administration Building, the Green Room and Dressing Rooms, the Equestrian/Animal Center, multiple storage areas, as well as shops for scenery, props, crafts, costumes, lighting, and video are all part of the equation! It’s a large campus, chock-full of creative spaces, as well as beautiful grounds with a waterfall feature that runs down from the plaza and through the parking area.
Needless to say, it’s a big job to keep it all looking pristine! Luckily, Kevin Lounsbury is on the job, supervising his team and making sure that the majesty of the canyon is complimented by all the physical elements that make Tuacahn magic possible. Cue the applause for Kevin and get to know him below!
- What do you do for Tuacahn?
I am the Facilities Manager.
- How long have you worked at Tuacahn?Â
I have worked here for spot on 15 years.
- What is your favorite part of working at Tuacahn?
My favorite is being part of the environment that produces a world class venue. I love to see people smile and laugh and be totally entertained in a facility that we work hard to take care of.
- What is your favorite show you’ve seen at Tuacahn?
I could probably say any of them, but Big River always comes to mind first.
- Something fun about you/something that people might not know.
I love to cook, especially for my five children and their spouses, and our almost 15 grandchildren. I love to watch them grow and develop into individuals who love God and the life that they are so blessed into.
Whether you come to enjoy the serenity of Tuacahn during the day or the magical excitement of a performance, be assured that Kevin and his team have worked day in and day out, to make it the most beautiful and seamless experience possible.
