Among all the new developments at Tuacahn this year, one of the most exciting is what is happening at the Tuacahn Café! Here you can enjoy a new high-tech outdoor dining patio designed to help you stay warm or cool, depending on the weather, lively BBQ Grill Nights, and a new, mouthwatering selection of delicious entrees.
And there’s a reason for all the upgrades! Food Service Manager Jody Lounsbury explained, “Our goal is to provide a dining experience that matches the majesty of the canyon. The red rock cliffs, the blue skies. It’s stunning! Many people that live in the area don’t even know about it! We really want to get word out to the community that there’s a place where you can have a nice, relaxing lunch and enjoy the patio with its spectacular view.”
The new awning is designed to make things extra comfortable for outdoor dining, providing shade and misters for summer, and heaters for the cooler times. Retractable screens give actors privacy during soundchecks and rehearsals on the stage below, while allowing those dining on the patio to continue their meals up until showtime.
The patio will also be the site of the new outdoor BBQ Grill Nights with different specials every evening that there’s a performance. One of the Tuacahn Café chefs will man the grill right there on the patio, and the meals will loosely coincide with the themes of the shows.
“We hope people will come and enjoy a lovely meal before the show,” Tuacahn CEO Kevin Smith said, adding that the Tuacahn Café can also accommodate larger groups and special events. “It’s something we’ve been doing, but we want to continue offering even more opportunities for large groups and events.”
The new happenings at the Tuacahn Café don’t stop at the doors. Inside, the menu has been completely revamped with a wide selection of exciting entrees.
“Our new menu is the result of wanting to keep the favorites, but also broaden our offerings with gourmet salads and creamy pasta entrees, as well as shrimp, chicken, and steak tacos,” said Lounsbury. “We use the freshest ingredients and have had a lot of great feedback, especially for the tacos. The new menu options, the breathtaking view, our friendly customer service—it’s all part of the package.”
Also inside the café, a new neon sign proclaiming, “This is where the magic happens” will soon be installed. Not only will it provide the perfect photo op for patrons, but, according to Lounsbury, the magic patrons experience when they come to Tuacahn is not just from the shows. It’s the stunning scenery, the exceptional customer service, the enchanting performance, and, of course, the food! “All the little details matter,” she added, “coming together to create an incredibly magical memory for our patrons.”
The Tuacahn Café is open for lunch on Monday through Friday from 10am – 2pm, Saturday for breakfast and lunch from 9am – 2pm, and from 5pm – Showtime on every Outdoor Amphitheatre show night. Make plans now to experience the magic at the Tuacahn Café!
