I’m Kim McBride and I am very excited to be the new Box Office Manager. Originally from Jacksonville Beach, Florida I was lucky enough to have the beach as my playground and Disney World as my happy place. I was uprooted as a preteen to Northern Utah which to say the least was a culture shock. Cold and snow were not in my vocabulary! We bounced around the West for family employment opportunities, moving was an all too common event and much to my dismay everywhere still had snow and cold. Fourteen years ago I was very excited to settle in Southern Utah, finally escaping the long winters! When we left Idaho Falls, Idaho, a friend said to me they were so jealous because I’d be able to go to Tuacahn whenever I wanted to. I had never heard of Tuacahn and when it was explained to me I couldn’t wait to experience the magic. Little did I know it would become my second home!
I am the proud mother of 2 adult daughters who also work at Tuacahn. Both of my daughters even graduated from the High School that used to be here on site. I’m very excited to be getting married this fall at Tuacahn, which is very fitting since the first time my fiance and I met in person was at Tuacahn! I am not ashamed to admit I am a Disney adult. Growing up in Florida with Disney World so close it was a huge part of my life with many happy memories and I’m happy to say I passed it along to my children! I love the outdoors and love to partake in all the hiking Southern Utah has to offer. I’ve recently discovered kayaking which is quickly becoming a favorite activity. I love being on the water as well as in the water, but prefer a clean pool when I’m in the water, Florida oceans taught me you may not know what is swimming right next to you! I also love to travel and experience new places and new people. One of my favorite quotes is by Mark Twain, “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness….” I have a strong background in customer service and working with the community. I spent many years in banking, have worked in a funeral home, and even spent several years in special education at a school. My journey at Tuacahn began in 2014. That season one of my daughters was in the cast of Wizard of Oz and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The parents that year were backstage helping the kids and I got to see up close and personal the real magic that goes into making a Tuacahn production. I was hooked and i had to figure out how to be a part of Tuacahn. The next season I applied for a job as an agent in the box office. It started as a part time, few days a week second job, as staffing changed it worked into a full time position as the bo office night manager and now with the unfortunate passing of our beloved manager Margi I’m honored to try to fill her shoes while also putting my own signature on the position. I love being part of the Tuacahn family and having a small part in helping others to find the magic of the canyon!
