Order up! If you’re coming to a show and looking for a bite to eat, the Tuacahn Café provides a variety of menu items too delicious to pass up. Austin is our head-chef behind it all with support of his Kitchen crew. Get to know him below!
How long have you worked at/been with Tuacahn? I’m one month away from having worked here for a year.- What do you do for Tuacahn? I’m the head chef, and I take care of everything food related in the cafe, caterings events, I do the food order, scheduling for the cooks and dishwashers, group dinners, basically just keep my eye on everything and make sure we are always ready to feed anyone at any time.
- What is your favorite part of working at Tuacahn? I have two favorite things about working at Tuacahn: I love hearing the music coming from the Amphitheatre and seeing the lights reflect off the canyon while I am cooking. The second is my team. We have an amazing team in the Cafe.
- What is your favorite show you’ve seen at Tuacahn? My favorite show would have to be Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
- Something fun about you/something that people might not know. Fun fact about me: If you want to pronounce my last name, sound it out phonetically. Vay-ya-va-nan-da. That name was a gift from the King of Thailand to my great, great grandfather, who was the general of the Thai army. The more syllables you have in your last name in Thailand, the closer to royalty you are, and my five syllables is just one short of the max six. My father is Thai and my mother is white.
