Filly and her colt

A new star has emerged at Tuacahn’s Equestrian/Animal Center, and it’s a boy! Born into a lineage of theatrical greatness, a brand-new, beautiful colt has stepped into the world amidst floodlights of excitement and anticipation.

After an eleven-month pregnancy, the proud mother, Filly, welcomed her firstborn with grace and elegance on the evening of March 26. Although the word “filly” typically refers to a female horse that is less than four years old, this “Filly” is a stunning all-white twelve-year-old mare with an enviable list of acting credits. Although Filly went on maternity leave at the end of last season in order to ensure the new little one’s health, this summer she will be returning to the stage for her ninth season at Tuacahn!

His grandfather, Dude

The colt’s grandfather, Dude, began the family tradition of acting on the Tuacahn stage back in 2014 with his debut in Wizard of Oz and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He was a large, black stallion that passed his stately manner and calm demeanor on to his daughter, Filly.

Now, all involved are hopeful that the legacy will continue! Animal actors are legendary for bringing that extra special magic to Tuacahn Broadway musicals, as well as the Christmas Nativity. Will this gorgeous new champagne-colored colt with grey-blue eyes carry the star power qualities of his forbears? Only time will tell!

  1. I believe that Prince is fitting for such a handsome young foal. He was also born at the time when Frozen and Anastasia are beginning.

  2. Manuelito would be a great name and would honor the Navajo Nation.
    From the Internet.
One of the great war leaders of the Navajo, Manuelito had a long history of fighting his people’s enemies prior to becoming a principal opponent of the U.S. government. Born in what is now southeastern Utah, he became a warrior at a young age and fought in raids against the Mexicans, Hopi and Zuni during the 1830s.

  3. I love the name Duke — gives a nod the to the actor royalty he is and a name that is similar (but more regal) to his grandfathers 🙂

  4. He is a cute little guy that is all knees!! How about Sidney spelled Sidknee (the K is silent)!!!
    Or
    Sid-Knee

  5. Chac (Mayan for “Fire”)
    Pronounced Chaac
To honor the naming origins of Tuacahn

  6. Sorry, I’ve been corrected. Chac or Chaac is the Mayan word and God of rain, thunder, and lightning. Hmm. Maybe he would keep it away for the outdoor season. 🙂

  7. My entry to name the baby horse is: “Good Boi”, or “Boi”, for short.

  8. Canyon……for all the beautiful canyons around St. George!

Or Rocky….for the beautiful red rocks of southern Ut!

  9. How about naming him “Encore”, to honor both his mother and father and their star- powered characteristics that they brought to this handsome colt?

  10. His color stands out so he should be named Red or Red Rover to capture the beautiful red rocks around Tuacahn.

  11. I like the names Desert Star, Starstruck, Harry Trotter, Sir Prancealot, or Remington for your sweet little guy!

  12. I have two suggestions.
Both are historical names that not only conjure thoughts of great theatrical productions, but have also inspired and influenced many of the great actors and writers to follow.

    I propose

    “Shakespeare”
    OR
    “Romeo”

  13. I think his name should be Nani (NA-Nee or NA-kNee Silent K for his long legs) means beauty or glory. He’s a BEAUT.

  14. How’s about the name Tua, after the Miami Dolphins QB Tua (strong and quick), and being actually born in the Tuacahn stables, Tua short for Tuacahn

  15. Zecha—“someone with aspiration, inspiration, hope, and guidance”

Lightning⚡️—”lightning was a manifestation of the gods”

Ace—“A name that suggests excellence and being number one.” The diamond on his head is like the ace in a deck of cards.

  16. I think he should be named “Player”
While he’s still a colt it will be fun to watch him frolic and play. When he is trained and begins performing at Tuachan, he will become a professional “Player”.

  17. Diamond boy.
In the simplicity that follows his mother’s name. he has that stunning white diamond below his forelock. And the name exemplifies his shimmering champagne color.

  18. Rock canyon is his birth place but his for the diamond in his forehead. He should be called Rocandi. Or Dirocan.

  19. So…what did he really get called? BTW…my name/comments weren’t there. Sad face emoji
