Off Season Happenings at Tuacahn

As you know, our 2023 Season of Pure Imagination doesn’t officially start until mid-May with the opening of our Broadway Season and the regional premiere of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. But what you might not know is that there is always something happening behind the scenes at Tuacahn — off season included.

Some of our current projects include:
• Updating Directional Signage in our Indoor Hafen Theatre
• Scene prep for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
• Entrance Road Construction & Additional Parking
• Updating Pre-Show Stage sound equipment
• Updating the coverings to our Outdoor Rehearsal Pad
• Padded seating added to the Outdoor Amphitheatre in premium section, rows A – H

Signage is being added and updated for the Indoor Hafen Theatre to improve navigation.
Widening the road entering Tuacahn.
The intersection entering Tuacahn parking is being widened to improve the flow of traffic in to and out of Tuacahn.

Many of these updates are for the ease, comfort, and experience of our wonderful patrons! The directional signage in the Hafen Theatre will make it easier to find your way to seating or conveniences, and the padded seating in the Amphitheatre will provide an all-around better experience during our outdoor Broadway shows. Plus, the updates to our Pre-Show Stage’s sound systems will enhance your experience before the show as well.

With funds graciously given by the State of Utah, we have started construction on our main road leading into the Amphitheatre, widening the entrance to make coming and going from shows, events, and concerts easier than before; helping the flow of traffic to prevent backups and long wait times. We are also extending our sidewalk up past our cast housing, so you can take in the sights around our beautiful canyon in a safe and comfortable way.

A new heavy-duty shade awning is being added to the practice stage to provide protection for props and stage sets, and more importantly to provide shade for the performers and they practice in the hot Southern-Utah weather.
