As Tuacahn’s Head Animal Wrangler, Kimberlee Davis oversees the training and safety of our beloved animal actors. Horses, goats, sheep, a camel, a dog, and more live year-round at Tuacahn, relying on her to keep them healthy and happy, and to train them to keep their cool on the stage.
How many seasons have you worked for Tuacahn?
- I started working with Tuacahn in 2007.
What do you do for Tuacahn?
- I am Tuacahn’s Animal Trainer/Handler.
What is your favorite part of working at Tuacahn?
- Beyond my animal work, I love teams! It’s amazing to be part of the enormous team effort that goes into our productions! None of us could do it without all of the others. When your success is measured in applause and the house is standing applauding….. you know that the team has performed well! I get teary over it from time to time.
What is your favorite show you’ve seen/worked on at Tuacahn?
- Unfortunately, I don’t get to see many shows at Tuacahn because of my onstage work. My favorite shows we have produced, however, would have to be our 2007 – Cinderella as well as 2021 – The Count of Monte Cristo.
Something fun about you/something that people might now know.
- The gratitude I have for my animal team (animals and humans both) is overwhelming! I could not do the things I do without them. They are the true stars!
